Thanks Oxtonite, it sounds like your application could still be open, just hanging on until you send whatever else they need?
When I informed the case-worker I wasn't able to reapply for a couple of months (as we were abroad and unable to obtain the certificate), I was told the complete application would be cancelled, and refunded. Maybe your application is still in limbo.
Best of luck for you too.

I did manage to speak with my original case-worker since I posted this query here yesterday, and she said the same as you, I need to send it all again, so that has been confirmed.
When I told her Worthing Homes have sent the certificate directly to LR, she said until I send my version in with the application, the restrictions would not be lifted. This is something I wonder could affect the new application, as it would just be a home-printed copy from an email.
It could all be returned and I'll be back to square one.

The helpline is no good by the way, I was on hold for an eternity and gave up in the end remembering the LR have a rep here.

    Hi john_l_k

Hope you manage to get it resolved soon....sounds complicated! My situation is slightly more straight forward, although my application was definitely cancelled. We were also out of the country and didn't receive the letters sent to my home address re the cancellation until we returned. I assumed, if there were any issues, they would contact me via email (which I included on the application form) for something as important as a 'cancellation' but no it appears not!

The reason for the cancellation was my late relative's name included middle name on the probate form but not on the title deed and they required a letter or email from me confirming that it was the same person. Unfortunately, something I didn't consider. Would have been so simple had they contacted me for that information via email, particularly as they stated in their letter that they would accept an email confirmation.

I agree, trying to get through to their helpline is very frustrating and their guidance notes and on line help video aren't very helpful.

In fact it has been a real eye opener dealing with government agencies following a bereavement! I recently contacted HMRC regarding my late relative's PAYE situation as I received a letter on 20th February stating they would send me a tax calculation within 8 weeks....beginning of July.....still no tax calculation from HMRC. Rang on Friday...another 20 minute wait on the phone only to be told that his estate is owed a few hundred pounds! I asked why it has taken so long....and was advised it had been overlooked! I doubt it would have been overlooked if the estate had owed HMRC money! I feel another complaint email coming on!

Sounds like I was lucky then, as the adviser sent me an email explaining the hiccup because of the restrictions and then I was able to directly call her. I must have ticked the "contact via email" box too.

Since writing the last post I've had an answer back from their online enquiry form and it confirms I need to make a fresh application. Now it makes me wonder why they sent the official copies back.
Their reply also stated the restrictions have not been lifted, and won't be until I reapply, but it still doesn't answer whether a copied email attachment would be satisfactory evidence for the "certificate" they need.
Tomorrow is Monday so I'll probably just have to bite the bullet and try the hotline again, but in the meantime keep my fingers crossed the LR rep comes along here first.

Oh, and don't get me started on Gov agencies when dealing with these affairs. It's DWP with me, plus some banks, utility companies etc. Some have been so easy and simple to notify/close accounts, yet some have given me cause for complaint too.
