Paid a deposit for a caravan, now have neither

I won it on ebay, but then I was a real fool and paid the deposit via paypal without ebay, no neither one will help....
As it was won on ebay then ebay should give you their contact details. I'm not sure why ebay told you it was outside ebay, but they are wrong - you bid and won on ebay.
Are they selling any other items? If so sign up for a new ebay account and bid/buy some to get his contact details, and then setup and then start a money claim against them.
For £500 I wouldn't be rolling over. Best of luck.
