I'd like to just thank you for your kindness. I was quite shocked by the insurance company's response, considering I didn't do this on my own accord. Guess it's out my hands.

You are a victim of fraud. The insurer didn't know that when they first dealt with you. They thought you were the fraudster.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

Whenever you are unhappy with an insurer your route is to follow the complaints procedure (which will be set out in the policy docs) then if their reply is unsatisfactory or they ignore you for 8 weeks you can escalate to the FOS for their adjudication at no cost to you.

I'd just love to complain about no refund, but clearly they're within their rights, so I guess there's no point. I just called Acorn Insurance. Quoted £4315. Lowest quote I've received, and amazing staff.

But, I can't afford it considering I'm already down £1700:( On top of that, some forum members believe I might be paying additional outlays, so really can't afford any insurance of £4315. It's such a horrible situation right now. Wish I could just rewrite history.

Your grounds are not simply "no refund", but that you were the victim of fraud and not a fraudster!

Hi Quentin. I'm not sure I follow what you're trying to say? What are your referring to?
