Would it be worth contacting a solicitor to send that person a Cease and Desist letter?

When it happened to me, I retaliated in kind. They thought they were anonymous but I paid an online search company to get their personal details (they were in the US). The shock of me emailing them and telling them all their personal details stopped it dead.

This was 15 years ago. If it happened now I would just turn my computer off. No reaction from you makes it no fun for them.

Please use the Action Fraud link, but meanwhile:

    In Hotmail/Outlook:
RIGHT click the email. Click "Mark as Junk". Go to the Junk Folder.

Right click the email again. Put a check mark in the box next to the email.

Look at the top line, see "Block" as one of the options. Click it and it will ask "Block all emails from ---- (whatever the address is) ?"

Click that. It's blocked. If he/she uses another address, follow the same procedure. But the poice should really be doing something about this. I live in rural Lincolnshire and we have a police website "LincsAlert" which has a direct line to Action Fraud.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.
  • The biggest problem you have is if the person doing it knows what they are doing then an IP trace is pointless. They'd either use someone elses connection if they know the details of their WIFI login. They could do it at a free WIFI location or even use a VPN which will just show as if they are coming from another country. Or even TOR over VPN.
