Can my dentist do this? Isn't this discrimination?

Dentists are people. I'm married to one so I know
If you want to repair the relationship, what about just emailing the practice, stating clearly that you have no problems whatsoever with Dr xxxx's practice and ask if you could please see her again?Save 12 k in 2018 challenge member #79

That's what I said to the Practice Manager. I said the dentist put words in my mouth and I had no issue with the service she provided. I think things have gone past the point of no return though and one can't blame me for feeling a little aggrieved. Hopefully things will get patched up.
I also don't think it will look very good if I suddenly receive a letter through the post, nearly a year after the event, setting out that she feels the relationship has broken-down (in compliance with GDC guidelines).0 -

I've taken offence at your comments. If you can't manage basic etiquette and politeness, perhaps this forum is not for you.
Its very easy to become offended when other posters do not agree with you or see your point of view.
You lecture me on etiquette and politeness yet fail to use the same morals with regards to your Dentist.
I have zero problem with being called a Troll and you are not the first poster to call me that, the others that did were also upset that i didnt share their point of view or agree with them.
If you dont want honest answers to your questions dont ask them on a public forum.0 -

And you will no doubt posit that you have been in no way judgemental or insulting here? You have evidently failed to have any regard for my version of events and are clearly bias towards my dentist.
Anyone who enforces their legal rights in the courts is immoral according to you? Good luck with that...
I'm afraid I can't have a reasonable discussion with someone who can't follow simple rules.0 -
yes i stated i have a bias towards your dentist. The reason is that i believe you are not actiting in a fair way to them regarding your problem.
You are seeking compensation for a problem you have blown out of all proportion.
your opening post says "What I suspect has happened here is the dentist was at a loss as to what was causing my chronic pain and decided she could do without the headache, therefore removing me from her practice" yet you then go on to say you have a second opinion etc.
You come across as someone who has latched on to the diagnosis of the private dentist and want to use it to make yourself some money.
You accuse the dentist of discrimation to add some weight to your case then try and justify it by saying your depressed and have facial pain.
I see no discrimination due to your perceived disability and i also dont see a good reason why the dentist has wrongly decided to no longer have you as a patient.0 -

What on earth are you talking about?
The private dentist only took two x-rays and said there may be something wrong with one of my teeth. I then forwarded his findings to my NHS dentist and asked for their opinion and I did not receive the courtesy of a response, even though I chased the matter up. Ah, but that was proper conduct according to you and I am being completely unreasonable here!
I have had the physical and mental health problems for over a decade. My dental practice knew about them at the time of registration, yet you make it sound like some sort of seriously calculated plan to spring a disability discrimination claim on them. Presumably I am making all that up though?
Yes, you know all about what happened on the last occasion I saw the dentist in question don't you?
And presumably you think I get some sort of perverse pleasure out of issuing a claim in a County Court, knowing that I will be at an inherent disadvantage having serious health problems, and having to argue my case with a barrister sitting on the other side of the courtroom who knows the Civil Procedure Rules like the back of their hand? If so, you are grossly mistaken.0 -

ok ill reply.
Do you care to remind us all WHY a payment of a few k from the dentist will help?
What do you stand to gain from this except money?0 -

I don't care about the money - it is mainly a point of principle. I don't like being treated unfairly as you can probably make out. I've faced a lot of adversity in my life and have come to the conclusion that if you don't stick up for yourself, no one else will.
I could raise the matter with the GDC but they are a toothless bunch who are not best equipped to deal with discrimination cases.0
