My mum recieved a private parking ticket almost a year ago now she followed advice online and ignored all the threatening letters but this week she received a civil enforcement ltd claims form WITH the particulars of claim with the letter. We have ready the newbies section all about this and several similar posts but we’re still really unclear about the steps we need to be taking. I’ve seen several online defence templates but not sure if they are relevant to us all the jargon written about these things is a little confusing. I wandered if anyone could write in layman’s terms the correct steps we should be following now after receiving this claim form. All answers gratefully received

This is a complicated subject, and, if you do not want to pay up, you will have to put in the hours. Nearly everyone who comes here is a layman and a Guide for Dummies would be of little use.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
No one has been advised to ignore since 2012 unless you live in Scotland.
You need to re-read the newbies section, which has step by step instructions for what you need to do at claims stage. It can be confusing and overwhelming but there's no other way about it.
Once you have read the thread and followed the instructions, draft up a defence and post it here for critique. It would also help to search for threads on how others have dealt with CEL.0 -
What was wrong with the advice you already got your first thread?

We can't have 2 threads about one case. CEL ones are SO EASY to see off, just copy another one.
NO REPLY HERE PLEASE - LET THIS SECOND THREAD DIE.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
