Confused about civil enforcement claims form help!
HampshirePerson
My mum recieved a private parking ticket almost a year ago now she followed advice online and ignored all the threatening letters but this week she received a civil enforcement ltd claims form WITH the particulars of claim with the letter. We have ready the newbies section all about this and several similar posts but we’re still really unclear about the steps we need to be taking. I’ve seen several online defence templates but not sure if they are relevant to us all the jargon written about these things is a little confusing. I wandered if anyone could write in layman’s terms the correct steps we should be following now after receiving this claim form. All answers gratefully received

We already have, now your post is on the right forum sub-board you seem to have missed.I wandered if anyone could write in layman's terms the correct steps we should be following now after receiving this claim form.
I am a laywoman and so is the lady who provided the screenshot step by step guidance to acknowledgement of service (AOS) of a claim. It's all here and defences to copy, so:
See post #2 of the NEWBIES thread (see below for how to hop there, 2 clicks away).
CEL claims are so easy to see off with no hearing, that your Mum has nothing to worry about now you are here, and she could pretty much copy a defence from any one of the hundred of so CEL threads about claims in the past year (all discontinued).
Simply read the sticky thread post #2, and search the forum (NOT the whole of MSE) for:
CEL discontinued
or
CEL discontinuance
...and change the default forum search to 'SHOW POSTS' and look for January and also 2017 results, because people reported CEL discontinuances all the time in recent months! Copy one!!
NO LINK TO THE NEWBIES THREAD GIVEN, SEE BELOW!! HOP THERE NOW.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
