Best way for us to get record, rewind and pause tv

Hi,

After being with Virgin since day dot and them slowly increasing their prices, we have bitten the bullet and reduced our package with them to broadband only. this has not been a popular decision in our household, with 3 children who each used to watch channels that we no longer have.

So, our set up WAS, a tivo box in the main lounge and a normal virgin box in our eldest daughter's room, both with all channels apart from sky one, sky movies and sky sports.

We don't have a decent outside arial, but we DO have an old satellite dish. We have Amazon Prime and Netflix.

What is the best way I can go about mimicing the old set up, by way of a humax/BT/TalkTalk/Sky etc box/boxes please?

I have been reading older threads on here and am confused as to which box/boxes we could use, given that we don't have an upgraded tv arial!

Just to add, that the reason we have reduced with Virgin to BB only is the cost, so in an ideal world, we would be wanting to pay as little as possible extra above the cost of the broadband each month.

Can anyone suggest anything?

Thanks in advance!

If you have a satellite dish, and 2 feeds from it, then a Freesat box is what you're after. Similar to Freeview, but through a dish rather than an aerial. Can be had with 'Freetime', which is the equivalent of 'Youview' on Freeview - catch up/on demand programmes, integrated easily into the programme guide.
