(Not strictly true - I'm not a football fan but I'm a sucker for all sports coverage. I'll watch anything. I watched all the Euros last year and no doubt I'll watch most of the World Cup. I don't think football is "the beautiful game", but I can still appreciate a good match/contest. I watched most of the curling matches because I find it fascinating - my wife can't understand it and thinks I'm mad! On reflection - she may be right...)

Wasn't it! I saw it on the red button but they didn't show all of it, did they?


All of the hockey matches I've seen have been good. And what particularly impressed me about the women's games was that you couldn't immediately tell from the standard whether they were male or female! Those women are tough! There was one incident where (Decker from the USA I think) was flattened and the Canadian commentator on BBC said in a matter of fact way: "Oh - that's an elbow to the head..." She got up straight away from a blow that would have had me out for a week!


Anyhow, I went for a kip for a couple of hours, and the red button is showing the closing ceremony. Why? Who watches it?


I'm going to have to listen to 606 on radio 5 until my wife gets back from visiting her mother.


(PS - I did watch the Women's 6 Nations rugby between France and Italy yesterday. The standard of women's rugby has really improved in recent years. Good for the beeb for showing it -if even only on the red button).

Now the red button is showing some sort of artsy fartsy BBC collection of Winter Olympic moments. Don't do that! Show the earlier highlights as you have before!

I'm going to rescind some of my earlier criticism.

I've discovered in the app if I search for figure skating, I get offered Winter Olympics, when I look at just the episodes with skating are there.
