Wayleave Agreement

How do I negotiate directly with the electricity company (Scottish Power Manweb)?
Write to them - enclosing a plan if you can.
If any pole and stay feeds only you then that is a service and no wayleave is required or paid.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Hi,
Following an unsolicited contact from SDF it made me curious as to whether the pole and stay + overhead cables are actually on my property. I therefore contacted my local wayleave officer who has made an unaccompanied site visit and confirmed that yes, they are on my property and that I am entitled to payment. We have agreed to meet for a site visit early next month to discuss the matter. I have read that the actual payment can be affected by the degree the property has been deemed to have had its value affected. This then begs the question, would I have been better going with SDF and paying them 20% in the hope that they can negotiate a higher settlement figure or dealing with the wayleave officer directly? Admittedly I have no idea what the wayleave officer will offer in the way of compensation at this point!

SDF Will get more money than you would - but that's because they charge a fee to the DNO and a fee to you.Hi,

NFU rates generally apply to wayleave payments - see if you can research them
otherwise approach the DNO direct0
