We always take an extension lead, the ones that have 4 or 5 sockets in, that way, you use one adaptor but can charge/use several items at the same time.

I second the suitcase packing; we always do the same, for example, if I!!!8217;m taking 8 t.shirts I put 4 in each case.

I can!!!8217;t help with what to take for the kids as it!!!8217;s many years since mine were young enough to need entertaining but have a lovely time.

Most of us take far too much on holiday. I lay out what I think I should take and then put at least half back into the wardrobe.

    I plan my holiday wardrobe.
    I wear everything I take.
I wouldn't get anything out unless I know I'm going to wear it.

  • Don't forget to take the ..................KIDS!
  • We've travelled abroad lots of times with our three children to cities like Barcelona, Lisbon etc. Me and my husband each take a small suitcase with our clothes (plus nightclothes, underwear and swimwear) and toiletries in (liquids in a see-through bag) and any other essentials like travel adapters and chargers. The kids each take a backpack with their own clothes and anything else they want in - which now tends to just be their tablets (with headphones and chargers) and a book. That's about it - I weighed my little suitcase when packed and found it weighs around 4kg which is quite minimal, but is all we need. We always take hand-baggage only as it makes things much easier, and I think it's good to get the kids to carry their own stuff so they don't try to take too much! Oh and also I have a handbag with the important stuff in - our money, passports, boarding passes and details of the hotel booking. Also remember EHIC health cards and insurance details. On the plane we've found that snacks and a new magazine/toy did the trick.
