Packing lists for family hols

We are going to Barcelona in June for 10 days to an airbnb apartment, with 3 kids aged 12, 5 and 18 months. I am thinking about what to pack, and hoping some lovely people might share their packing lists? From suitcases to things to keep kids amused on the plane.

So you need help with ideas of what to pack for holiday?
Ok, here goes.......pack a:
Honey badger, they are great fun and imagine the suprise on everyones face when the cheeky little fella starts running around the aircraft/hotel/beach
A full real madrid kit, the locals will appreciate your sense of humor.
An outfit made from union flags, that way you will get the respect from the natives you deserve.
Tea bags and marmite, as they probably wont have either in your hotel.
If you intend to wear sandals/flip flops dont forget to pack plenty of off white socks.
Several ipads as we all know children cant go more than 2 mins without watching peppa pig or looking on facebook.
Download the song "viva espana" so you can play it non stop on the plane, your fellow passengers will appreciate your attention to detail.
If you need any other ideas let me know and enjoy your holidayLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
My tip would be, assuming you are taking more than one case, to always share each person's clothes between however many cases you are taking
eg as a family of 3, taking 3 cases, we used to pack 1/3 of each person's clothes into each case.
That way, if one case goes astray, everyone still has stuff to wear and no one person is missing everything they've packed2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

I'm ashamed
to say that phatbear's post did make me :rotfl:.
Jackieblack's suggestion about splitting clothes over several suitcases is a good one.
I pack half-and-half when we go away so even if one suitcase goes AWOL, we'd have enough stuff to manage for 2 weeks.
Take your own suncream.
Can't help with amusing the kids on the flight but I wish other parents would give some thought to that subject on the flights we take.0 -
Wouldnt go abroad without my plane pillow.0

We took our kids on their first plane in 2016 when my son was 4 and daughter was 9. Son had his innotab to watch wee videos an play games whilst daughter had her ds for the 1.5hr flight to france as well as a colouring book and crayons etc which also keep them busy whilst waiting transport to and from the airport and hotel. I had all electronic gadgets in my big handbag as you have to show these in the trays these days whilst they had wee backpacks with some stuff to keep them amused.0

Fear not i took your comment as tongue in cheek anyway.
That being said i still highly recommend taking a honey badger on any adventures regardless if they are in far off lands or not.
However that being said i may have to start re-wording my questions when i stop passengers at work. Did you pack the bags yourself, has anyone given you anything to bring to the uk, are there any angry african/asian mustelids in your bag?Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
We found that the children liked things to unwrap. So lots of little gifts (book, notepad, crayons, pens, small toys, sweets) all wrapped. for them to open on the plane.
Definitely have suitcases with 4 wheels.
Of course, you can let your children play on gadgets the whole time but spending time with them doing things as simple as playing hangman or cards is good.
If I'm staying in an apartment I always pack my own kitchen knives and a tea towel and plenty of adaptors for chargers, hairdryer etc.0
