running water noise when nothing in use

Hi
in my new house (semi-detached) which is being refurbished, i can hear under the sink a running water flow noise through the pipes.

Main stop !!!! is under the sink, when turned off noise exists.

No other water uses when i check. Floorboard is solid concrete, so no risk of under floor leak.

No outside taps. Boiler is currently removed so no hot water use.
No noises from the toilets.

any suggestions, as don't want to incur a big repair bill if can be avoided,

don't have a meter. looks like a call to the water company tomorrow:o
  • Many years ago I had this too. In my case it turned out to be a leak in the supply pipe from the main to the house.

water pressures have been fine, they were even tested by Home Link for a boiler quote. No signs of any flooding on the land or nearby.
