Virgin Rewards flights and APD

Hi

If you book a Virgin Atlantic airways economy reward flights for an under 16-year old, should you pay the full taxes and charges?

Yeah, thanks Richard I saw that. Its just that Virgin's "Flying Club" is charging the full amount of "taxes and charges" for my daughter's reward seat. I queried it and was just told "that's what he charges are for all passengers regardless of age". Even when I asked her to read out what the breakdown of the fees was and she said "GB tax £78" I was told that I need to pay it.

She checked with her manager who confirmed it but it seems I'm paying tax on a ticket that isn't liable for the tax so, presumably, Virgin won't be passing that on to the UK Government.

Just seems dishonest.

Sorted now. Appears the telephone department were confused (I know that feeling too well!).
