Get him a voucher for a goat/chicken from Oxfam... IT's the thought that matters!
As I sadly no longer have my father nor FIL, Father's day was really about getting something for OH from the kids... but since he had the sense to declare that they are now old enough to make something at school (and these are the important gifts)... he will get NOTHING and I don't need to trouble myself over it.I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
I always get into trouble from my parents if I spend more than a fiver on Mothers/Fathers Day!
In true money saving style, I've bought the menfolk large gift boxes of toiletries that I got less than half price in Boots after Christmas
Here I go again on my own....0 -
And when they get too old to be making gifts at school, you just delegate to them to go and buy something suitable. Anything! A bar of chocolate! A book token! - hey, next year the eldest can buy him a bottle of beer! :j Except of course he won't be home because he'll have started at uni!Mado wrote:As I sadly no longer have my father nor FIL, Father's day was really about getting something for OH from the kids... but since he had the sense to declare that they are now old enough to make something at school (and these are the important gifts)... he will get NOTHING and I don't need to trouble myself over it.
TBH, we don't buy gifts for either of our parents now, they have to make do with a card! As do our mothers. If I see them near the day there might be a token pressy, but nothing more than that.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
my boots have loads of gift sets at quarter price at the moment, unfortunately all the mens ones are the FCUK brand and i hate it, i couldn't buy it no matter how cheap.52% tight0

Me neither! Even though they do lovely bright pink sets which ALWAYS catch my eye in Boots I look closer and think "Yuck, NO, not with that name on, I don't care how pretty the pink is!"jellyhead wrote:unfortunately all the mens ones are the FCUK brand and i hate it, i couldn't buy it no matter how cheap.

Well, I'm certainly not going to suggest vibrating pants (try Google), how's about a crazy frog ring-tone?pavlovs_dog wrote:its creeping round, and will soon be upon us.

They both have masses of great things that he might love, but never realised he 'needed' till now
