Can I Get Prime Video On 2011 Samsung

We have a Samsung UE40D6530 Smart TV bought in 2011 and cannot find the Amazon Prime App.

I have searched the net and found that the APP was released for Samsung Smart TVs in 2012 and have read somewhere that it was not designed for older models.

I have the latest firmware/software update for the TV and find this very annoying as we are subscribed to Amazon Prime.

Does anyone know if there is fix for this?

  • The only 'fix' is to buy an Amazon Firestick.

I'm afraid your TV set is too old and won't ever be updated again.
As well as the Firestick mentioned in the earlier post, you should investigate the possibility that your existing Blu-Ray player may support Prime. It will of course need to be connected to the internet.

Many thanks for the replies and I will look at both suggestions.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Fire stick is not the only option. As above some Blu-ray players support it, as does a Roku and Chromecast.
