    Afternoon

    Welcome to flubberyzing!

I've had a busy day and got a lot of stuff done. The two plants have been pruned back and a load of paperwork scanned with originals burnt. There was a large pile waiting to be scanned and I got fed up avoiding them.

My cleaner texted me to ask if I had any work for her husband to do in my garden. He's the chap who cleared the front 'garden' last July. I'm happy to get him to rake up the moss and deadhead / clear some vegatation.

Poppy - I encouraged my DM to use a laptop many years ago. She is still amazed at what she can do and find out. She's very deaf and cannot use the telephone at all so relies heavily on email. She's now using a tablet and smartphone too. It takes time for the older person to learn from scratch but it's so worthwhile. Hope you don't get too frustrated, it takes patience.

Yesterday I won £25.00 on my half-yearly lottery ticket :j First time I've ever won more than a free ticket.

My next task is to find a supplier of a large fresh cream cake. All the birthday cakes I can find seem to be fruit or constructions with tons of buttercream and highly decorated. A simple Victoria sponge with lashing of cream and some restrainted decorations is all I want. More investigations needed - after a cup of tea!
  • Thanks for the start HH and thanks to all the other posters who are so generous with their lives:)

Was bright earlier but now very cloudy & looks like the rain may set in later.

I am a bit of a lazy herbert with no excuses:o - however as I know this about myself when I am ‘in the mood’ I blitz. When I am not in the mood I try to tick over - I have just stopped typing & spent 30 mins having a blitz on wrapping paper & packaging - donated about a third of it to cs.

Back to typing - I sent my poor DH to Mr A & he came back fuming  he reckons the staff are useless (I never have a problem:)) & they didn’t have the specific item I sent him for:o However as he really does loathe shopping in Mr A he stuck to the list:rotfl:

Now I have a Focaccia to make (my donation to a family party tomorrow) & heat up the lo lasagne for dinner.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Sunday.

  • I am fed up!!! Took OH for his walk this morning, it was cold, but not too bad once the wind was behind us........I have run out of library books and despite going through the local library 'read on line' books there is very little available to read, so guess I might be forced to go back to sewing aarrgghh......

I have just indulged in a large glass of ice cold pinot grigio, went down a treat, OH had lemonade, he is unable to partike due to his medication.

Supper is on, the smell of the lamb roasting is driving me nuts, I love roast shoulder of lamb, it is my one downfall, especially the crisp fat......yum yum, hate it cold but lurveeeee it hot. Strawberries in jelly ready for dessert.

I lit the fire this afternoon, we are using up coal in the shed before switching to an electric fire for the occasional very cold day, however, I will keep a small amount of coal in, just in case of power cuts, we are all electric apart from the gas central heating but that does not work if the power goes off!!

Time to fetch the meat out and put the spuds etc in..........
  • Just popping in to welcome FLUBBERYZING to our happy little band. It's always nice to "meet" someone new xx

DS called in and twisted my arm to agree to giving a home to his upright freezer. It's only about 16 months old. I am going to do a swap over with my chest freezer as it will be much easier to find stuff in it! I hate rummaging to the depths of the chest one. It's not as big as my current upright but I don't think I shall have a problem getting the contents of the chest one in it.

Have a nice evening folks xx
