Morning lovelies
Aw Holly glad you got a bit of a lie in. Have a lovely day with your family
Bit grey here at the moment but yesterday was a real spring day and all my windows were opened to get rid of winter
Got loads done yesterday. Full downstairs tidy and I now have a lovely perfectly sparkly oven again which I cant help sneaking a look its like a brand new one  Managed to steam the shower and the bathroom as well and decluttered my toiletries cupboard.....if I just lived off my hotel toiletries then I would probably not have to buy any more for months. What is it about stolen hotel toiletries that just beg to be taken but never used?
So today I am heading up soon to finish my bedroom declutter then start on the room of doom. I know i wont finish it today its far too big a job but I can start to make a dent in it. At least i can watch the lovely Simon Rimmer whilst i do it ....blood pressure alert again Jackie
Had the rest of the pizza last night for dinner with slaw and cheese and chive dip. For today I have some more of the never ending Christmas turkey with some sprouts and cabbage roast spuds and some pigs in blankets I found in the freezer.
Right best shift my bootie have a good day all :A0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Bright morning OH is pushing to go out for his walk, he will have to wait, I need to get over getting up first. Sign he is getting better. I have a feeling if the weather is ok this coming week he is going to be out in the shed!!
I have a problem with my cleaner.......she presented me with abill on Friday, which showed a date they were not here. I have challenged her about it, waiting to hear. They have been late arriving the last few times they have come. I do not feel they are doing as good a job as when they first started. They are also quick to leave, and I know they are not giving my neighbour a full hour. I timed them on Friday and they left after 3/4 of an hour. I was with my neighbour yesterday, unfortunately she did not keep the invoice, but paid by cheque and gave the invoice back to them. I am afraid they pulled the same trick on her.
I have emailed the Company, waiting for a reply, but am now wondering whether to give them notice. The standard has dropped since they first started. I think she is trying to expand her business too quickly, which is a big mistake.
Roast shoulder of lamb for supper with spuds, butternut squash and brussels. I usually do another veg, but OH is still not eating properly, although the steak pie disappeared quite quickly last night. He seems to be reverting to how he was as a youngster. He is a Scot and just now seems to want to eat fatty food, not necessarily what is good for him to regain his strength. I know the frying pan figured greatly in his mothers cooking.......afraid it does not here.
Enough carping, I have had my coat hat and gloves plonked on the back of the chair, guess I am being told something!!0 -
Morning all
I'm jealous of those of you with a beautiful day. We have grey skies and mizzling rain.
We had a visit from DD, DGD and the hoover ( Jasper pup ) yesterday, as they were having new glass in their front door. I swear that dog was a goldfish last time round, as he greets you with gusto and then 2 mins later he's back, tail wagging his body in half. Trust DD to get a bonkers dog :rotfl:. He's a gentle soul but very excitable about everything !
Today Dad is coming over, I don't know how he will be as it's the 4th anniversary of Mum's passing. I suppose after 60 years together it still hurts, but I am prepared for tears.
Anyway the oven is on and we are having roast chicken, roast pots, parsnips, honeyed carrots and greens. We will be having my HM apple and blackberry tart with ice cream for after tea. The veg has been prepared and the kitchen hoovered, so now I'm having a quick coffee.
TA I hope Mr TA gets his oomph back soon. Sending hugs.
HollyH enjoy your tea party !
LaineyT hope you enjoy your family get together .
Scarlett have a lovely time.
Nelski fancy borrowing hotel toiletries ! I would never do such a thing !. The ones from our mini break were Elemis and have been squirreled away :rotfl:. I'll probably forget where I've put them though
.
Hope everyone has a good day whatever you are doing.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Morning all thank you for starting us off Hollyharvey.
I went to bed early last night and apart from a loo break, managed to get over 6 hours sleep and feel better for it, apart from the continuing head cold but that isn't as bad today.
Yesterday was lovely and sunny. Today is overcast but not really cold. I have washing to go out in a minute and that can have a blow even if it doesn't dry. I've washed the kitchen and bathroom floors, hoovered the sitting room and the hall and just waiting for those to dry.
Eta I am waiting for the hard floors, not the carpets.
JackieO, I forgot to say that Bearwood High Street (near Harbirne) is good for charity shops, parking not too bad, and Northfield too.
I am not doing a Sunday roast, not for just the 2 of us, but am going to roast half a chicken in garlic and herbs with baked potatoes and some rocket salad. An easy dinner and one we both like. OH cooked last night, he had a pork chop with shallots and bacon and I had a fishcake. He bought a very good olive loaf from Mr T and we had some hummus. And salad, we do eat an awful lot of salad.
I've got a seedy loaf in the bread maker and am going to try not to burn self as I get it out. The day before yesterday I sliced my knuckle quite dramatically trying to clean fluff out of a radiator, I swear that domestic appliances and fixtures lie in wait to bite me. I've also had several shocks from totally inanimate objects, the worst was from the dish drainer and that was accompanied by a little crack, the same noise that you get lighting a burner on the gas stove. I am wondering if I could power some small appliances, that would be quite mse.
Hoping that everyone has a good dayI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Hi
Leek and potato soup made and downstairs shower room cleaned. Going to help a friend of mine this afternoon. She is 80 and decided she would like a computer. She has never got on with technology so we are taking things very slowly. Bless her it is a revelation to her how quick emails are received etc. I admire her.0 -
Morning all
We went out for breakfast this morning as my DH has been nagging all week. I managed to get up and out for 9.15, phew!
We came back and DS is helping his dad to replace a fence panel in the back garden. Much sawing and head shaking going on. I have just completed our passport renewal forms and DH just has to sign his and rite in his email address. I found it difficult to do as the boxes are in orange on a white background. We will go to the post office tomorrow and get the applications checked and sent off.
Nothing else planned today although we have to get a quote this week to renew our motor insurance. I still need to buy a new pair of shoes. I may have a trip out to Clarks Village this week.
TA hope the mister's appetite perks up.
Csarina sounds like OH is getting much better.
HH if you are coming down to Bath we could meet up. DH and I are fascinated by your adventures on the narrow boat Apostrophe. Lunch will be on us!
Well have a good day all. Hugs and spoons all round.

Morning all! Hope you don't mind a newbie to Old Style popping in!
I was wide awake by 7:30 this morning. It's the last day of half term for me, so I'd originally planned a lie-in... But body said no! Decided I might as well just get up.
I'm a primary school teacher, so I spent a bit of time just making sure I'm sorted for the new term. Then had fried eggs on toast for breaky. One of my favourites!
It was very, very foggy outside this morning, but seems brighter now. I took a quick trip down the road to the retail park for a couple of bits for packed lunches over the next few weeks. Now I'm home and just had my coffee!
Earlier I finally threw away the last 2 Christmas decorations... You see, I have a grandma of a little lad I used to teach, who comes into my classroom every Monday afternoon to help out. She's a retired teacher, so she knows what's what. And the extra pair of hands is appreciated! Anyway, for Christmas she made me two table centre-pieces out of assorted greenery, candles and baubles... And they've just kept on looking so good and fresh, it seemed a shame to chuck them!
Anyway, I decided as it's mid-Feb now, it was time to say good-bye to them. I must remember to tell her tomorrow how well they've lasted! Frankly, I've been amazed! I also have a hyacinth that was just a bulb a child gave me at Christmas, just burst into flower yesterday, so I'm enjoying looking at that!
Not sure what lunch will be today. Probably nothing, as I'm full still of eggs, toast and coffee. Maybe just another coffee a bit later. Then tonight will be leftover bolognaise from yesterday, which I did in the slow cooker.
Have a good day all!Because it's fun to have money!

Good afternoon everyone :hello:
Just popping on quickly to say Hi and welcome to flubberyzing (great name by the way).
Jemima and the grandchildren have just left so Steve is busy cooking chicken curry, chips and rice. I will just have the curry I think and maybe a couple of poppadums.
Bobby looks very smart after his cut and blow dry yesterday but the groomer emailed me later to say she thought he had an ear infection so I have booked an appointment at the vets tomorrow. Steve gave Max a bath whilst we were out and washed all the pet bedding too so they are very sweet smelling pooches today.
It is quite sunny here so I may venture around the block with the dogs but I will have to go and get dressed first. I am feeling a bit chilly so it would probably be a good idea anyway.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
