I have the crown but quite a bit of tooth came with it.
In 2005 I had root canal work done on that Molar, over the years the crown has come off at least 3 times and a new one fitted.
I told a dentist 3 years ago it does not feel right, he stayed standing, did not even recline the chair, tapped the tooth with a metal tool and said "it's fine".
I paid a private dentist 1 year ago in another area to look at that tooth, he said the crown is not sealed anymore and there is decay underneath.
I could super glue it on but as the tooth is a dead tooth (no blood supply or nerve) it is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria hiding under the crown.0 -

I think the dentist will have to start from scratch then. A new impression will be needed along with a new crown I'd guess. Only just had mine done, I swallowed the crown when it came out so needed a new one, £415 but that was private. It's nothing , not nothink.0 -
I received the NHS form today. filled it in and posted it back.
Just out of curiosity, what type of crown did you have fitted?
Ideally I would like a white one but have only ever been offered a gold coloured or silver coloured one.
I wonder if a white one would be strong enough or maybe it was a cost issue that I was never offered a white one.0 -
A few dentists are regulars on the health and beauty board, you might be better off asking there.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

For £415 I'd have recycled it.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
