No all parcels are given a reference number now which gives delivery confirmation.

"Online delivery confirmation is available for 1st Class and 2nd Class Small and Medium Parcels when you post at a Post Office branch.*

You can confirm when your parcel has been delivered or attempted to be delivered here. Online delivery confirmation is not a tracked service. This means you cannot track your parcel through Royal Mail;s network, but can check online to confirm it has been delivered.

If you need a tracked service, or if you're sending valuable items such as money or jewellery, please use Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed. !

I think I read they intend to introduce this for large letters as well at some point.

Isn't that exactly the point - RM will have to explain the lack of a card.

Not if they say it was delivered to the actual address.

What happens then I would be interested to know.
  • Op you need to go to/speak with Exeter DO and explain the item hasn't been delivered.

Ultimately you will lose any eBay or Paypal dispute if you open one, so do the legwork yourself and keep the seller onside.
