Parking Charge Noice from G24 LTD

I recieved a parking charge notice from G24 LTD issued on January 10th 2018 for parking in a Sports Direct Fitness car park that is private land. The charge was £60 within the first 14 days, or £100 after this is if you do not pay it within the early period. I did not recieve the letter until the near beginning of February, when the penalty had risen. I have yet still to pay this so it has risen to the £100, so I appealed on the G24 website, which was rejected and I was advised to contact Independent Appeal Service (IAS) as another form of appeal. I am an 18 year old student working part time and I have made it clear in my notes I am willing to pay but asking if a monthly payment plan could be arranged for this as I do not have the funds to pay for this outright. The IAS have since come back to me and rejected this again, sending 'evidence' of the letter that I already recieved. Are they actually taking into consideration my circumstances that I have noted? Do I really have to pay this charge, has anyone actually paid G24 notice's or not, and have they ever taken it further??? Really need help!! Thankyou

Why?!!

You need to do better research, young student! I have 4 studenty age sprogs, all of whom know from their Mum (me) that a G24 parking charge is NOT something to pay!
The IAS have since come back to me and rejected this again,
Again, research online first, would have told you NOT to try IAS, a 'kangaroo court':

No. They are not, why would they? You are placing FAR too much respect in their direction! The Directors who run the IPC and provide the IAS, were (until they did a little two-step shuffle) the SAME PEOPLE as run Gladstones Solicitors, who sue drivers sometimes (but not for G24). A huge conflict of interest that's not escaped MPs in Parliament.

The IAS is considered a waste of time, as our NEWBIES FAQS thread says. No chance of fair appeal.

Plan A with G24, that you seem to have not thought of, is simply to complain to the Store Manager at the retailer, telling them (not asking them) to cancel the stupid fake fine for you, a customer. Wickes and Homebase, etc., cancel these ALL the time.

An utter 'outrageous scam' (Hansard, 2.2.18). You need to learn quickly how to spot scams.

Also, here's a new experience for a young adult - Complain to your MP.

The industry is rotten and MPs need to step in. If numpties didn't pay, and if the DVLA had not opened the gate a decade or so ago, to allow private firms to get data, the industry would not have grown like it has done, now out of control.

Did you watch the Parliamentary debate on Friday 2nd February, linked here:

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5787731

Watch it in full & read the transcript also linked there. You need to know the lie of the land, spread the word, get wise. You will learn loads from the Parliamentary debate alone.

And no, you won't get a CCJ if your parents are worried. Read our threads and learn...watch the debate.

On no account should you pay them a penny unless ordered to do so by a judge. It is a SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences. Parking Eye, Smart and a smaller company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, who have also been reported to the regulatory authority.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind most of these companies may well be put out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Just to add if that's your real name, send a message to the Forum Team asking to CHANGE your username! Never use your real name as your username on a public forum discussing liability (or not) for paying money.

Of course they have taken no notice of what you wrote in your appeal.

See what you are up against:
There is nothing further you need do.

You will almost certainly be sent many debt collector's letters that can be ignored, but in the extremely unlikely event that you receive a Letter of Claim or official court papers then come back here for further advice.
• Thankyou - I've just emailed them.

That's worrying.

Emailed who?
• Emailed the forum team to have my username changed for privacy reasons. Until I recieve any more form of communication from G24 or the IAS, I will not be paying this. Thankyou for your help I really appreciate it

You cannot possibly have read the Parliamentary transcript and watched the debate yet!

And what about Plan A? As I said in my summary above:
Plan A with G24, that you seem to have not thought of, is simply to complain to the Store Manager at the retailer, telling them (not asking them) to cancel the stupid fake fine for you, a customer. Wickes and Homebase, etc., cancel these ALL the time.

Asking questions on a thread where the last activity was February, and the OP has not been back since 16/02/2018 isn't likely to help you, what have you done since reading the advice on your own thread?
