Not meaning to sound harsh, but....why dont you have an open and honest discussion with your partner about your concern regarding finances, rather than asking strangers on an internet forum what they think?

The car? On a £2K budget buy on condition. Take someone that knows about cars with you. Dont pay a ridiculous premium for excessively low mileage.
