Long day out of the house today, but was a nice funeral service for OH's elderly relative, even though there were not many of us, and we were not called upon to sing:D, it would have been a bit feeble with only 9 of us plus the vicar, instead beautiful music and singing was played. We offered to drive another elderly relation home, and she insisted on buying us a carvery lunch as it was quite a long distance out of our way, the food was tasty and very welcome and it meant that we were able to sit and have a good chat with her too.

Next up will be a change into pj's and dressing gown, a bite to eat and see what is on the tv, I think it ought to be an early night too.

Catch up with everyone's news later and see you all tomorrow:D

    Gers - It's my dads birthday on 9th March too - he'll be 83.
Took his new laptop down to him today - he's really pleased with it. I have only 4 icons on his screen and then his favourites when he goes online so hopefully there's nothing he can press 'just by mistake!'
Stayed and had some tea, then just a lazy night in front of the TV with little cat purring loudly beside me.

    Evening all,

Warmer here today, reached 10c at some stage.

Lunch out today with 4 smallest granddaughters, DDs3&4 and DSIL1......OH feeling sorry for himself (what's new?) so he stayed at home and had yesterday's leftover bacon and cabbage which he enjoyed.

Spent !!!8364;81 in supermarket on way home from lunch.....not spending any more money this week, need to sort my finances over the weekend.

DD3 is starting a new job in 10 days, as DSIL works from home, we can share the childcare......at least that is how I think it will work.

Good to see you posting Karcher.

JackieO , love your way of choosing a holiday venue.......might try it myself!

Glad to hear that OH is improving Csarina.

    Hugs to all.

  • Hi everyone,

A late post for Friday as I have thrown my body clock completely out of kilter with watching the Winter Olympics live:eek: So Thursday night I watched the Olympics through to 7:00 a.m. Friday. Then I fell asleep on the sofa & DH woke me with a cup of tea at about 1:30 p.m.:o At least I had a good sleep:j

Decided to completely ignore what I intended to do & went a different way. Our bedrooms are not big enough for anything more than a King size Bed & 2 bedside cabinets so the 4th bedroom (I use the term loosely) became the dressing room:rotfl: However, the single bed we bought for downstairs (when my DH had his motorcycle accident in 2011) did just fit & it became a general dumping ground - boxes of stuff from the attic which was Kondoed last year & general stuff which I CBA to sort. So we removed the boxes & stood the bed & mattress on end. The boxes & crates etc were then quickly arranged into bits that could go into the attic, bits for DH’s Office (I.e. 3rd bedroom) & Boxes etc for me to sort.
The handy thing is that as I was feeling rather ashamed of myself, I ploughed through everything. Found some more bedding which has been put straight into the cs bag, together with DB’s old music stand, a couple of box files, a cork board also in the cs bag. Unfortunately I also found about 30 packets of photos (which we had never put into albums:eek:) + loads of letters, holiday mementoes etc most of them over 20 years old. I started to sort BUT it was all too much as there were also letters, postcards etc from my DM who has been gone for 10 years. So the whole lot went into a crate to be sorted at a later date. However, I class this as a successful declutter session as it was several boxes into one collapsible crate.

DH was an :A & ordered a takeaway so I didn’t have to stop to cook :) A delicious curry & as I wasn’t very hungry I have a lunch for tomorrow + as it is always enough for two days dinners I have frozen the rest.

Saturday I will try to do something off my rather long list of tasks to do.

I am so grateful for the daily thread - wonderful people who are so lovely sharing your lives & showing me families can be wonderful (as well as occasionally frustrating:o)

Hoping that Mr Sandman calls in for everyone:)
