  • Morning all,

Jackie - I loved reading of your tails on yesterdays thread. It does sound like an amazing adventure and I'm sure your next one will be just as memorable.

Yesterday, in contrast, wasn't particularly memorable. I worked late and went home to do some washing and cleaning. In bed for 9.15.

Been to the gym again this morning and I'm 2 cups of coffee in at work. No plans this evening and feel no major pressure to change that. Knackered.

Chicken, bacon and avocado wraps for dinner. Might bake some coconut macaroons (healthy).

Oh, and thanks for the insight on the washing temp of colours and whites. Very informative.

HH - Do you freeze much of your baking or is demolished as soon as it's out the oven (like I do)?.

    Morning

Parky again here today yesterday was gorgeous and nearly warm enough to sit and have coffee outside but back to winter today so the skimpy bikini is back in the drawer :rotfl:

Want to get all the downstairs done today then I can attack upstairs this weekend. it will be nice to have the office by any other name tidy again but I still wont have a usable room because of the size of all the furniture in there

ordered a van delivery today haven't had one for a couple of months now as I have struggled to make the weekly minimum without the wine :D but this week I need lots of extras so it will be nice to have it all arrive at the doorstep again.

Pizza tonight for a treat ...just an Asda one but looking forward to it :) Last night I had some lamb tandoori kebabs from the freezer with flatbreads and chutneys :)

Holly I dont know how you cope with so little sleep there is only one 4 in the day for me and Im glad of it I think 6.20 is early:o Could the GP help at all maybe you need to break the
    habit.

redruby hope you enjoy your beloved Friday night :D

Have a good day all :A

    Morning all,

Its lovely and sunny but cold, frost on the windscreens this morning.DH/DS2 are glad there is now a back door and window on the extension they are building ;).I didnt go out yesterday apart from dogwalking and I could do with some food shopping today really but DH birthday present is due to arrive today which needs signing for so hope it arrives earlyish.Should have booked a delivery like you Nelski

I had a severe case of CBA yesterday, lit the fire and did lots of reading instead after I'd got tea ready- sausage casserole with loads of sweet potato/carrots /leeks,some bacon and leftover chorizo...everything but the kitchen sink but eaten with relish by the men :D I'd better at least run the hoover round upstairs today..

We are out for a meal tomorrow with 2 friends, meeting up in town at 7.I don't generally like going out so early when the DGC are staying over as I like to give DS2 a hand with bathtime /bedtime/stories.DGS likes me to read to him,I think my years spent in Reception classes must have given me the edge :),it's still one of my favourite things to do and it wont be that long before they won't want me to do it,especially DGD who seems to have grown up so much this last year.

Right hoovering awaits, have a good day everybody xx

Looks like a nice bright day and going to meet a dd for coffee around lunchtime. I want to get some plastic folders for the baby travel system info I managed to get for dd and sil.

i need to get back home about one thirty as handyman is ringing to say when he can put up the new china cabinet which looks more modern and family should approve, I hope.

Decided to look out my nice holdall which was in my wardrobe only to not be able to find it so will look out my new small case and get overnight things packed for Saturday. Have a feeling there could be snow in Scotland so will look out a couple of pairs of boots to have in the back of the car just in case. I want to have a pair of boots for dd who is pregnant so she feel more secure of her footing.

I still have some home made soup in the fridge so that will do for tonight with maybe cheese on toast. Must remember to set the alarm for tomorrow as I am being picked up before nine and I want to be ready to go as soon as I see the car.

I am so glad things are looking more positive for you both.

    redruby

I have lever taps in both basins, bath and kitchen sink which I got for the look of them as they were nice and modern and only realised how much easier they were almost by accident.

    Holly

You must be shattered. Is there a chance for you to have a nap during the day?

    Hugs to all

Bright and sunny here but quite fresh. We had a large fence panel delivered at 9am so DH was awake early as he has it on his mind. It comes to something when the delivery charge is more than the panel cost!

Csarina glad the hospital visit went well.
Lainey seems that Lulu has settled in her new stable. Have a lovely time out and about today.
Holly H boo to sleepless nights.

Not much planned today. I need a new pair of shoes but half term is not a good time to be trawling the shoe shops.

We have switched to fibre broadband and DH is currently trying to set the router up. Time to get off line I think.

    Have a good day all.

  • Morning all.

Thanks for the thread Holly, we couldn't find the fish and chip van, most disappointing, fortunately I had a part baked baguette and some hot.dogs for CHS,I made do with a cuppa soup.

I dropped CHS at work at 7 then went to the supermarket, butcher's, Dr's and chemist, got back home at 9:45 and set the WM going. As soon as it's finished I'll take us off shore power and manage on solar for the rest of the day.

Karcher, give us a wave if you are around, saves us worrying about you.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Hello chums well its Friday already, and another week has vanished. youngest DD gave me some flowers yesterday, as today it would have been my 56th wedding anniversary and bless her she never forgets. She is such a good little lass and extemely caring, her sister is as well ,but in a different way as she is the practical one of the two.

AOD we are interested in anything Historical around the 'Brum' area I know there are some back-to-backs that we can see, we also like books ,bookshops CS's and open markets :)

Nelski I think I may start my scribbling when I retire for the second time (first time was in 1995) in a couple of years when the boys are off hand ,just find it hard to find the time at the moment ,far too busy enjoying myself :):):)

Weather is sunny, but a bit windy here, but I brought round my washing this morning to DD's and its out on her line getting a good blow .Last day of half term today , then my DGS will all be back to school next week.

Got a veggie curry out of the freezer this morning to defrost for dinner tonight with some rice it will fill me up a treat ,I made it before Christmas with some bendy veg which made a change from using it up in soup :) I think tomorrows dinner will be chilli chicken as I am in a spicy mood this week :) No shopping needed until about Tuesday though

Right the boys are in need of their lunch I can hear fridges and freezers being inspected they are foraging :):)

Have a good day chums what ever you are doing enjoy and keepwarm and dry

    Hello all
It seems that most of us have got some pleasant weather this morning, although we had a lot of black ice on the roads earlier.
I have stripped the bed and put the WM on, I'm afraid there are 4 loads as I have not done much lately, so I'm on catch up now. I have also taken down the shower curtains and washed them too. Must be the effects of the yellow ball :rotfl:. I was hoping to put my whirly back up but the hole is full of water and the grass is still decidedly soggy, so I'll wait a while until the garden dries up.
Mr Fix It decided to pick up some leaves in the garden and I was roped in to help. We filled 2 green waste bins with leaves and twigs as the green recycling stars in March. I was only out for about 1hr then I started coughing so came back in. During that time we had 3 different cats prowl the open shed. As in the past we have had mice, rats and a weasel family take up residency in there, I let the cats do their thing as bouncers :rotfl:. I did notice that the hedge at the side is still suffering from the after effects of the heavy snowfall, I thought it may survive but it doesn't seem that way. So now I have to decide on it's replacement. A fence or a shrub border. It backs onto next doors fence topped wall so privacy isn't an issue. Anyone got any thoughts ? All ideas welcome. I may have a trawl on t'internet later for more ideas and have a look through some of my gardening books.
Tea tonight will be the leftover curry and rice as I still haven't managed to shoe horn it into the freezer :(.
Ok the WM has finished so I must go and empty it, ready for the next load.
Hope everyone is having a good day. Take care all. Hug bucket at the ready, please help yourselves should you be in need of one.

    Evening all.

A very late one from me, I have been on the go since early doors.

DM decided she has a UTI so I took a sample to her docs on my way to town. The receptionist was very kind but said shekd need to use a different container as the one DM used had the preservative powder in and it cannot be dipped. Got a new sample bottle.

Caught the bus into town to open a new V irgin regular saver account. This is a store only one so I had to go in. Then back to DMs with the fresh bottle which she duly filled and then back to the docs. Nurse only test dips between 12 noon and 1pm so I headed to the bank to deposit a cheque and then treated myself to some lunch. The nurse called me to confirm a UTI and to collect a prescription after 3pm.

I took myself to Kelvingrove museum for a wander and listened to the daily organ recital- not my favourite musical instrument but it is fascinating to watch the organists hands and feet on the big TV screens.

Back to docs and then to pharmacy.

Now we have spent two hours sorting out arrangements for her birthday on 09 March. Phew!

Most of my days are dull...:rotfl:

    Happy Friday evening to everyone.
