TSB no long able to send payments to Nationwide

I use TSB as my basic every day bank account, I have had the account since I was 17 originally it was Lloyds but they automatically changed me to TSB a few years ago. I had no problems I use the online banking a fair bit and I often transfer extra money from TSB into my Savings account at Nationwide. This has worked great for years but tonight when I have tried to send some money over to Nationwide it now states:
"Your recipient's account doesn't accept payments through the Faster Payments Service so we can't make this payment. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you."
Why would they change thing? I have contacted both as obviously someone has changed a policy somewhere along the lines as I have never had trouble before and this always worked out really well for me until now.
Their help section Just says "We suggest that you ask the recipient for an alternative account that can accept Faster Payments. You can also pay by cheque or, if the payment is urgent, visit your nearest branch to make a CHAPS" this is now a total pain as I like to skim my account or send over any extra money so I don't spend it :rotfl:

Could be a temporary glitch?
I've just tried to transfer money (faster payment) from my TSB current account to my Nationwide account and it has thrown up an internal server error.0 -
Use the sort code checker to find out whether the sort code can accept faster payments or not:
https://www.paymentsuk.org.uk/consumers/sort-code-checker
If it can, then it's a problem at TSB's end. If it can't, then Nationwide must have changed their systems.1 -
I'm not sure if the fact you are sending to a savings account is relevant, but I just sent £10 TSB ---> Nationwide current accounts with no problem.
It isn't a transfer I often do.0 -

Hi,
I forget which bank it was transferring to (not Nationwide) but I got the same message. Given that it worked when I tried it again a couple of minutes later I would guess it's a glitch/error.
Not sure what could cause it though maybe they've had an 'upgrade' at their end (which in my experience means one of more things go to hell).Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0 -

[STRIKE]Hardly seems relevant when the OP's issue occurred when trying to transfer in the other direction. RTFQ![/STRIKE]0 -

Actually, OP was trying to send money from TSB to Nationwide, not 'in the other direction' as you suggest. RTFQ comment totally unnecessary IMHO.
The post you're criticising however, was not particularly enlightening, as OP had also done the same transfers in the past:cool:
As some have suggested, probably a temporary glitch.0 -
Don't leave it to the last minute !!!
what is a couple of days interest ?
for you, let me know if it runs into £KKKKKKK then I will let you OFF0 -
Apologies to pollypenny, not sure how I completely misread the OP.0
