Marbles Card

Recently applied for my first credit card as I'm starting to save for a house and need to try and build up some credit outside of my mobile phone and my Very account!
I went for Marbles as I won't be transferring balance or anything like that, just paying in full every month and ClearScore told me I was 95% sure of being accepted.
I waited a few days and got a letter through the post saying I couldn't get the card as I had already had a NewDay card opened in the last 12 months. I have never had a credit card and do not have any store cards on the go. There is nothing on my ClearScore either. Should I be concerned about fraud or could there be a reasonable explanation?
Apaologies if I've posted this in the wrong place, but I couldn't find a more appropriate section!

What about the other 2 CRAs, have you checked them ?0

I thought I had an Experian account, but I logged in and got told I couldn't be verified. I think perhaps my previous address details were slightly off. I've since signed up again with the correct ones so hopefully I can be identified now. I've just got to wait for a pin through the post so I'm none the wiser until then.
Am I right in saying ClearScore is accurate? Or do they get it wrong? Could I have a credit or store card in my name without knowing?
All I can see on ClearScore is Vodafone and Shop Direct Finance which I assume is Very. I'm hoping it's because I've got a Very account but I opened that in December 2016 so it wouldn't have been a last 12 months thing. All very confusing.0 -
These are the free versions to check your credit files:
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/creditclub - Experian
https://www.clearscore.com - Equifax
https://www.noddle.co.uk - Call Credit
Why did you specifically go for a Marbles card? Did you not try for say a 0% one or a rewards one? Try entering your details into the eligibility checker:

New day seem to operate the 1 Card rule for its subprime cards, opus, marbles and aqua but as you say you do not have any the simplest option would be to ring them and ask, could be an error on there part, ringing will hopefully allow you access to the marble card.
Let us know how you get on as it might help others.

Thanks both.
@CandyApple - I have ClearScore which is showing nothing untoward so I've opened a free trial of Experian Credit Expert for peace of mind if nothing else as a second opinion. Will see if it shows anything that could be the cause. Just waiting for a PIN in the post.
As for the selection of the Marbles card, I applied through the ClearScore app as it showed I had a high chance of being accepted. I wasn't overly fussed about about these minimal cash back offers or 0% finance as I am pretty good with money and will simply be spending a bit on it and paying off in full every month. Main thing was I was accepted which I was initially but when Marbles looked over the application they rightly or wrongly spotted I had already taken out some form of card in the last 12 months.
@john1002 - Yes I will definitely give them a ring once I've seen my latest Credit Report. If there's nothing on there to suggest I have another NewDay related credit/store card then I can only assume it's a mistake on their part. Will comment back on here if I find the answers!0 -
Hi sorry my post isn't exactly the same topic but new to this. I also applied for a credit card through clearscore, marble emailed me to say I was accepted and would receive my card in 7-10 days but I haven't heard anymore since. Does this mean they have changed their mind regarding acceptance?0

If you applied online did you create a profile to enable you to use their internet site - have you tried logging in to see if there are account details on there?0
