Phone insurance
I am thinking of getting a phone from a guy I work with. It’s quite an expensive one and is costing me £300. I obviously want to get this insured which I was planning on doing through my bank.
In the small print I noticed that you need proof of purchase and ownership. How can I prove this if I’m buying from a friend at work? I think I can get proof of ownership from my provider which is EE. I’m hoping they could send an email with the details of me eventually using my phone.
Anyone know if this is possible?
Thanks

Second owner you need to check with your bank if its allowed .
£300 phone personally would not pay more than £25 PA to insure .0 -
With my bank all that is needed is make, model number and IMEI.0

I wouldn't pay over the odds for phone insurance as it's £300 and you could very easily end up paying back more in insurance than what it is worth over 12 or 24 months.0

Check if its already covered by your home contents - perhaps as unidentified valuables at under £1000.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

If no to both questions just get a good cover which protects all the corners and screen0 -

Be careful as phone insurance may not be valid for handsets which were not purchased by you as new. The insurance may also say it must have been purchased as new from a UK company and exclude second hand or auction purchases.
Best to check these things now rather than come as a surprise should you try to claim. I would specifically ask them if the policy provides cover for second hand phones.0
