its not always that simple is it, when you say " I should have expected this"

I've come from a sim only deal that I've been on since 2013. i took the contract because i got a pretty good deal on the handset I was looking at (which i'm regretting leaving now)

I'm sorry but whichever way you want to butter it up, a price increase 2 months into a 24 month deal with no get out options is an absolute bumming.

You’re an example of why it’s a good idea to understand what you’re signing up to before signing up and agreeing to the terms.

“I couldn’t be bothered to do the research and check what I was agreeing to” isn’t a legal defence, unfortunately...

I'm not doubting you on this, t's and c's are there for a reason, that doesn't make this right. "We can increase how much you pay, when we want and there's nothing you can do about it" doesn't sit right

I've sorted it anyway, the phone i wanted was £629 sim free. i sold my old one for £90, they want £470 to buy myself out of the contract.

so i'm getting the phone for £443 and ill go back to a sim only deal. lesson learned.

"What is right" is not what is LAW. If you don't like the law (and I would agree in this instance) you can stand for Parliament or lobby your MP. Good luck with either of those!

or I can just buy myself out and never take a contract again.... and put it down to a life lesson..

I'll still maintain that the regulator is wrong on this
  • I have a non rant question about this.

I'm reading now the sim free deals are exempt from this...

I'm assuming that this is the 30 day rolling contracts and not the 12 month contracts you see?

Some sim free deals are currently exempt, it all depends on what the specific terms for the specific sim only contract say.
