squeezing extra person in room?

Booked a deluxe room in a 5* hotel abroad. Son who is living in the city might want to stay over with us. Is it acceptable just to let him stay in our room or do we come clean and ask the hotel if it's ok. Are they likely to say yes? Moral dilemma!!:o

Does your booking say, there is no space for an additional bed, or similar?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Who hasn't had an extra person after a night out or on a city break? it makes it cheaper, but a lot of the time it is simply last minute.

Depends WHERE abroad exactly... in many countries they have fire regulations that mean they need to know exactly how many people are staying, and so would not allow you to exceed the room's capacity. In other places they more or less accept that guests will have sexual adventures, and often charge an extra fee for this.0

I doubt the hotel will be OK with this, unless you tell them in advance and they can charge accordingly.
An unathorised person in a room probably compromises their insurance.
Just a opinion.0 -
It's Beijing.
The hotel is a deluxe (large room) which says it sleeps 2. Worth risking it?0 -
I don't anticipate any "sexual adventures".0

Too much information !!!
Is it worth chancing it - at risk of causing a potential drama in a communist country ?
We stayed in a fancy hotel in Bejing in 2011 - the staff were clearly observant of people coming and going.

I wouldn't even try0

If it really is a large room (and you don't have a particularly large son!) then I'd ask if they can put an extra bed in the room.
I certainly wouldn't do it without asking. Aside from the security /fire risk it sounds like you're trying to get away with paying for accommodation for 2 but really having 3 in your group. That's cheating.
I know lots of young people do it on weekends away but that doesn't make it right.0 -
They don't seem to offer a room for 3 adults so I assume the answer would be no.0
