I've also found a wee bit of parmesan left in pantry so shall try that too..here we go

It should be on most supermarket cheese counters (might be called Parmigiao Reggiano) in blocks (certainly Waitrose have it) and you will find it in shrink wrapped pieces on the prepacked cheese section in most places (Waitrose, tesco, Sainsburys). Also Pecorino (similar style) is available in some places. If you happen to go to France you'll find Parmigio Reggiano etc from the block at half the UK price!0 -

altho the cheese made the sauce thicker than i expected..it was perfect.
