I do have an inherited win10 PC from a deceased relative which I can experiment with and the whole thing really is a pile of sh*t.
Programs which work on one update mysteriously do not when it gets updated.
In fact it is almost a bad a Linux in some respects for updates breaking things.
It's not GNU/Linux that is to blame for updates breaking -- it's badly implemented distributions of it (or user error). I've had machines running Arch Linux for about a decade and nothing has broken yet.
Windows Update is much more buggy, and doesn't even update your installed software. It's a right pain having to download and install updates for every installed program manually. And I've lost count of the number of times I've been asked to fix a PC because Windows Update has stopped working.0 -
