  • Hey

I’ve been approached by pure legal and Novitas loans for CWI ‘no win no fee’ claim.

Anyone used them or had experience? Not sure if I should proceed?
  • Hi,
I have a really bad problem with damp and mould in my bedroom (a bungalow) the walls were cavity insulated before we purchased the property as can be seen by the white foam in the air bricks. I found a company called trusted cavity claims to which i emailed they said they cannot start a claim until i get my CIGA certificate which i do not have they gave me an address to which to send off for this with a one off payment of £42. They said once i get the certificate and TCC recieve it they will reimburse me the $42 immediatly is this a scam or are they a legit claims company any advice much appreciated.
  • Is this still an issue? Youre best bet would be a no win no fee solicitor due to cigas reputation. I may be able to help
  • Has anyone managed to win a claim against CIGA to have their cavity wall insulation removed? My daughter and her partner have had very good support and advice on pursuing their claim through CIGA and more recently through arbitration. Other people who also pursued CIGA for a CWI claim have won their cases through arbitration with less information than my daughter sent in. All the photographic evidence, technical detail and much more information was sent through to arbitration recently but she has just found out that her appeal claim has been rejected! This has astonished everyone involved as the reports, photographs, etc proved that CWI should be removed. They purchased their first home with the cavity wall insulation already installed but with no sign of any mould or flaking plaster and have spent a lot of time and money freshening the property; painting and decorating. The worst area is the back of the house, kitchen and dining area the plaster is like dust and affects their toddler's health as well as their own and there are damp like marks half way up the walls which look awful and just leave bits of plaster on the floor. It has been inspected for damp, etc by a professionally qualified engineer and was found to be caused by CWI. My daughter and her partner have been trying to get a result for about 3 years but now feel defeated and unable to make their house into a home or sell their property. Any advice would be very helpful if there is any chance they could take this further or is this the end of the road? Is it worth them writing to their local MP?
