Virgin Airmiles Advice Please

Hi forum,

I recently found out I have 11,440 Flying Club miles with Virgin Airlines which expire 30/10/2019.

I've never collected airmiles before and only noticed these after I started receiving a monthly email statement. I think they are from when I flew with Virgin to Shanghai two years ago.

Please can I get people's advice with what to do with these? I am not that frequent a flyer so would like to cash them in if possible or keep them rolling longer than October 2019 if possible?

Many thanks,
Pjbltd

You can use them for some hotels or part of payment for a Virgin holiday. I've never regarded them as great value but you could look into that. You'll need a minimum of 20,000 for a flight.

If you want to keep them then getting a Virgin Atlantic credit card or buy miles with Tesco clubard (if you use them) or join the e-rewards Opinion Survey and make sure you buy some points before the expiry date(s).
  • You can convert them to Hilton or other hotel schemes.

Might be a free night somewhere.

MBNA, the current card issuer for the VAA credit card are no longer accepting new applications.

The scheme will apparently relaunch at some point this year with Virgin Money issuing the new cards.
