Glad you had a great night toto.
I'm off sick today - came home early yesterday with splitting headache, 'tight' troat & chest, neckache. It's no better today but strangely I don't *feel* like I have a cold, more that I'm just under the weather!
Moneywise - I've done something really, really bad and will have LOTS to confess to on Sunday! Will have lots to confess to DH tonight:o !
There are so many leaves on the ground that i can pretend no longer - summer has long gone! :wave:bye bye summer! At least it'll give me a chance to use the leaf-hoover thing my dad bought me last year:rolleyes:.
Hope everyone else is well.

I think it was I_A who told us of selling a PG Tips Cheeky Monkey on e-bay for £12?
Inspired by that I sold ours, against DS1 will (he's 20, why did he want it??) for £3. And in Tesco, I've bought 2 more boxes of T-bags with free Cheeky Monkeys :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: That poor woman who paid £3 + p&p must be gutted.
But I've got DS & his gf a stocking present now :rotfl:0 -
Just had kids' dad on phone and feel real sorry for him, but also proud of him as he has finally admitted he is skint so to speak. Wanted to know what I am getting the kids so as not to replicate. He has realised he cant afford to get DD what she wanted so is going for the alternative, I told him they are both only getting £50 spent on them from me, and if he lets them know how much they can have up to, it really makes them think what they truly want.

It is much easier when that happens, and you know that the kids won't resent what you have struggled to provide, just because the other parent has spent a fortune.
I wish my ex-h had been as honest with both me & the DS's, but we did buy "joint" presents occasionally, well ex gave DS the cash & I bought the gift (usually with a discount
)....they still come back home with some cr*p though, even at 19 & 21! 2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Wow! Your ex is good, mine wouldn't commit himself to even thinking of the twins Christmas presents until about 3 days before the event! Gave him some suggestions for their birthday back in September and he bought vouchers:eek: still one of DS wishes was for Wii:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Penny2myName wrote: »Just had kids' dad on phone and feel real sorry for him, but also proud of him as he has finally admitted he is skint so to speak. Had a little extra money to spend today, hubby bought a moped for £191 when he had a budget of £400 so he gave me a little money to buy a few treats. My son is on half term now so I took him to the park, it's really getting cold out there now so we had to wrap up warm.
I have a few items finishing on ebay today so thats a few pennies coming my way.
There is a new sweety shop in town and they sell sweeties that we had as children, my son bought some jellies, but I had to treat myself to a mixed bag, haven't had a proper mix bag in about 17 years, there was mojo chews, penny black jack chews, Anglo Bubbly, Bubbaloo, penny fruit salad chews, all sorts, I felt like I was 10 again, the owner actually says that she has had loads of parents getting themselves mix bags, lol.
For the rest of the day, I'm gonna chill out, do a little bit of housework and get my daily dose of mse xx:j Bankrupt 6th October 2009 :j:beer: To a Debt-free Future :beer:0 -
penny, my hubby has 2 other children, 12 and 9, he explained to them that this year is gonna be a bit tight, with having a new baby due and finally having his lbm and they were very understanding, all they wanted was a football shirt each, which I managed to get this week with money made from hubby selling his car, I'm also getting them a few bits here and there, but I'm so glad they're not spoiled, their mum has done a grand job xx
Olive, I know your kids are a little older than mine - my son is 4 - I've managed to get him his xmas presents for a grand total of £12, he's got a pair of pj's for xmas eve, the night before xmas book also for xmas eve, i got him a mega bloks dragon £24.99 with my nectar points and in the argos clearance sale I got him a realy cool pirate ship for £4.99, should have been around £20, even if I don't manage to buy anything else, what I bought is more than enough, like my step children, my son is not spoiled and is quite happy with what he is given. Maybe have a look on the argos website for clearance items, you may come across a bargain xx:j Bankrupt 6th October 2009 :j:beer: To a Debt-free Future :beer:0 -
I've done really well on Xmas presents so far this year, got £120s worth of stuff for dad for £20 cash (plus a £5 voucher). It consists of 2 DVD box sets, 3 CDs, another dvd and a fleece
