Wow, someone who actually trusts British Gas! That's a novelty.

You need to read the bit relating to "referral promotions".

In other words, if you switched via quidco, and got paid cashback, you ain't going nowhere for a very long time...

I think he made it up - he's been a long time replying, even though he's been around.

Though he did mysteriously tell us this:

But hasn't explained what this means either!

Today I received a call from BG that my electercity supplier will be transfered from end of the month. I want to know if anyone else has got the call. Will that invalidate the Quidco cashback?

All I know is this... I'm with BG (for 1 more day, hurray!), and sometime last month I saw I could nab a quick £60 just for switching tariff to Click4 via Quidco. Easy money, or so I thought! Especially seen as I was leaving anyway So, I started applying online, but just before I clicked OK, I read the Terms & Conditions, and it definitely mentioned something about not being able to switch supplier within a certain time frame (12 months, I think). Maybe they've changed the conditions, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if suppliers (not just BG) started locking customers into deals very soon, what with all the switching going on. ESPECIALLY if they've also paid out referral promotion money!!!

Take it you didn't see Watchdog a few weeks ago then, about all the customers who have found it impossible to leave British Gas??? Phil Bentley was on, and BG were depicted as being an annoying buzzing wasp, who kept stinging poor old Nicky Campbell. It was quite funny.

I posted the link to the click4 terms and conditions last Friday, and there is no mention of any tie in there.

When you were trying to abuse the quidco deal, and switch tariffs whilst your switch away from BG was taking place, then you may have seen that you have to give the normal 28 days notice to leave, and might this have mucked up your transfer?
