£50k to zero - made it across the finish line

Just a minor mental obstacle today. The savings have surpassed the smallest card balance (just under £1k), and the temptation to pay it off is HUGE. The mindset of throwing absolutely everything at the cards is very slow to change, but I do feel it's important to boost the cash reserves at the moment. I'm sure (read: I hope!) this will get easier as the positive balance grows.Debt-free August 21, Mortgage-neutral April 241

Payments are all done for this month! Next month will be another milestone month - total for CCs and mortgage combined will go under £50k, CCs will go under £18k.
I've been juggling resources a little bit - I cancelled the professional insurance from my side hustle (saving me £20/month) as I won't be needing to renew it until at least the end of the year, and I've been diverting this to tiny home improvements - finishing little jobs like replacing hinges and sorting out storage. Next on the list is a cheap energy fix as our previous deal has just come to an end and it's a good time to lock in a lower price for a while. I think we should be able to make another £20/month saving on that.

Congratulations! That's am impressive milestone. Switching energy deals is a great idea, and what about your broadband? Ours was really expensive but I hadn't noticed we were no longer on an introductory offer.0

Today I'm just reporting on something completely and utterly meaningless (because I don't want or need any type of new credit), but at the same time symbolic of positive change.
My MSE credit club membership is now showing that:
Disposable income has changed from very weak to weak
Loans affordability has changed from very weak to weak
Chance of getting a new credit card has changed from very weak to fair
All three of those have been parked solidly at 'very weak' since I first registered three years ago, and I've been waiting for the day that those annoying little charts change colour! Now to push them all back into the greenDebt-free August 21, Mortgage-neutral April 241 -
It may seem meaningless, but it shows how everything you are doing is going in the right directionDebt free Feb 2021 🎉1

Here we are, another weekend, time to make the next round of payments! I'm quite optimistic about July. With some unexpected side hustle work and a couple of sales pending, it's looking likely that I'll be able to shove a minimum £750 or so extra at the cards and still be able to put a bit more into the emergency fund and savings.
Adding July's scheduled payments in to my sig, I'm just under £18k, and it feels really good.Debt-free August 21, Mortgage-neutral April 241 -

The card I'm making the final payment on this month is the biggie, the one that started off maxed out at £20300. Can't tell you all how glad I am to be finally seeing the back of this one for good!Debt-free August 21, Mortgage-neutral April 242
