    Thank you! Blimey that's a marathon :)
I just popped back in here to say that YAY I have just paid that card off thanks to some payments coming in earlier than expected  :)
A few minutes ago I was on Facebook and a friend had a referral code worth £20 to each of us for the Look After My Bills site, which is what I was going to use to do our energy switch anyway! So I've signed up with them and it looks like our direct debit will be going down nearly £40/month. Result! Of course I'll probably end up making two payments in a month and I have no idea if we're currently in credit or if we owe (I've been slacking on meter readings this year), but it will work itself out soon enough, and I'm no longer in a state of inertia over it.

  • I was really, really close with the extra income, so I shuffled a few things and cashed out my Prolific account just to be able to squeeze below £17k.
    Outstanding debt £16999! :D

I love doing that! Your progress has been amazing.

  • Thanks Drawingaline :)
I think what keeps me the most focused is not knowing what lies ahead, and wanting 'future me' to have as stress-free a time of it as possible. 'Past me' was definitely not thinking about the effect that her decisions would have on 'future me', so 'current me' is trying to make up for that.

My husband discovered a band on iTunes a couple of years ago. Only reason he gave them a listen was because the album was called, Future me hates me, and he liked the sentiment 😂 we all love them and are finally seeing them next year 😁

Ahhh, I love discovering new music like that! :) Oh, I hope there's a real solution for getting gigs back some time next year. DH is industry, I'm on the fringes on it, and the vast majority of our friends are connected to the entertainment industry in some shape or form, and frankly I have no confidence that the government's rescue package will get to the people and venues who need it the most. The phased reopening plans make no sense at all to so many venues who just wouldn't be able to stay afloat with social distancing capping the numbers. But I'm going to stop myself there before I can't find a way down from my soapbox :)

Numbers news today - apparently I still haven't quite got the hang of this! I logged into my card to gloat at the big fat zero,  only to see a £25 credit because I didn't notice that the direct debit was still to come out *insert facepalm emoji here*.
So I've done a fee-free £100 transfer from the next card along (the minimum I was allowed to move) and have set it to pay off in full next month. I can just about squeeze an extra £25 payment into the budget.
My stretch target for August is £975 in payments to take me under £16k.

Me and my girl are missing live theatre hugely, and I am a member of a FB group. We are all really concerned about the arts. I have had two big stadium concerts moved from this June to next, and one smaller concert has been shifted from may to this September and I reckon it will be moved again. The Beth's (the band mentioned above) is in March. So that MAY go ahead. As long as they can actually tour again as they are from New Zealand.

Ahh we are fans of The Beths too!! Seen them once and they were ace! We've got tickets too for next year. (Sorry to get excited and hijack the post, I just haven't ever heard anyone else mention them before)

Yey!!! Again, have never met anyone else who has even heard of them, my 16yr old daughter has a huge girl crush on the singer. We missed the last two times they were playing locally, so this time we are so pleased we got tickets.
