I feel your pain - I am going to the USA with BA next month on a multi trip ticket - LHR to PHI, PHI to ORD 2 days later, then back to the UK a week later.

AA have pushed back the Philadelphia to Chicago flight by two hours which creates a huge problem and BA will not let me transfer onto any of the other 6+ flights before that.
  • I would hazard a guess you'll be flown home in good time.

If the change is 2 hours you can ask for a refund of that leg and rebook yourself. Normally BA are happy to rebook if a schedule change doesn't suit you but it may be that none of the earlier flights are codeshared. If not, perhaps try calling another agent.
  • Sorry for the delay.

As suggested we went on Twitter and someone called us from the Newcastle call centre and were much more helpful.

The flight we had cancelled is on the 7th April and was at around 6pm. The next available flight was 24hrs later which would be a pain in the !!!, the other option was a flight to Newcastle but we live in Derby.

We were told that because of the advanced warning they are not liable for any Accommodation/Parking which we may want as an alternative.

Currently we are waiting to hear how the cost will lay if we dropped the two domestic flights and just drove and parked in Heathrow. They suggested it wouldn't be that different.

I will update when we know more and decide how we are going to proceed.

Thanks for all the help so far.

There are normally a few flights a day to Man but this is weekend and looking on google flights there is an earlier flight at 0755 which isn't very good time wise as you would have to be there a couple of hours earlier. In that case you woud have to get a hotel.

You could ask on the BA forum on flyertalk if anyone can check the loading for BA1370 on Expert Flyer. They may be able to confirm if there are any other flights available that day. You will then have information to go back to BA along with your other options.
    Good luck

We are still waiting for this to be sorted, BA are an absolute disgrace.

It took 2 weeks to confirm the refund amount for cancelling the 2 domestic flights. This was £190 which we were happy with so asked them to refund the money and update the itinerary. We had to chase them numerous times to get this far.

A week later when the was still no sign of a revised itinerary or refund we chased them again. We were then told the refund amount was actually £90 as the initial amount didn't included the tax adjustment(we were not told this) and that nothing had been processed.

We were still happy with £90 refund so asked them to process it and the itinerary asap. We were told it would be done in 10 minutes. When it wasn't we called back and were told 2 days. When this didn't happen we rang back(Monday) and were told 7-10 days.

As I explained to them we depart in 2 weeks so want it sorting asap but nobody seems to be able to actually do anything. They used the excuse of the recent snow for all the delays but as I pointed out, this has been going on since well before we got the snow.

We've had to book a bus from Derby-London and back at a cost of £80 and if we don't get the itinerary in time we will have to forfeit the bus to London and have someone take us to Manchester to get the first flight so as not to have the subsequent flights cancelled.

This is the first time we have used BA and it will be the last, I actually thought they would be much better than Ryanair who we regularly use but in fairness Ryanair have never caused us anything like this amount of grief.

But with the best will in the world Ryanair aren't going to get you to Vancouver any time soon

Ticket re-issuing is done manually at a separate office and there's always a backlog. They will prioritize tickets based on departure. If you haven't received your ticket a couple of days before departure call them again.
