  • Sorry to be a pain...

I have followed this link http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/new-popla-process.html and I am at the end of submitting the POPLA appeal. However it won't let me submit because a "third party has been registered and no signed authority has been uploaded" how do I get around this?
    Thanks

By never ticking the box to say you are submitting the appeal 'on behalf of' someone else.

    NEVER do that.

Are you sure you are on the POPLA website? Not somewhere dodgy?
Am I correct in saying the POPLa appeal should be strong enough to win?
Possibly not, with a UKPC compliant postal PCN and a case about a free retail car park (just like the Beavis case).

In your case, I would be showing pictures embedded in your POPLA appeal, of the retail park at night, because parking in Winter at 9pm it would have been pitch black.

That's what I would put first with copious very dark photos to prove the signs are not even visible, let alone any written terms or £charge being legible.

Coupon-mad, Is that not what the Parking Prankster ticked?

This is the link I currently have open https://www.popla.co.uk/appeal#/StartAppeal/Index as far as I am aware this is the legit website.

I typed in the car park and one previous case won there because they could not prove the landowners authority. This was back in 2015, though.

I have included pictures with the sun going down so POPLA could see just how bad the signs are with lighting but you make a good point. I will hold off with the appeal for the time being and go down to take pictures when it is dark to prove how poor the signage is.

    Thanks!

Dunno about the Prankster but I have lodged literally HUNDREDS of POPLA appeals for people over the years and have never, ever given my name or said I was appealing 'on behalf of' the keeper.

That's just stupidity, in my view. Why would anyone do that?

You just do the appeal in the name of the keeper, of course (or driver if that's already been admitted).

Choose the email address you give POPLA wisely, yours if easier, if the actual keeper is not the most robust person at handling the matter of the POPLA evidence when it arrives next month. Put zeros in the telephone number box.

  • I have attached a lot of images into the appeal both when the sun is going down and when it is pitch black. My point is to show how bad it is even when light to further prove how poor it is in the dark.
In anyones experience is this a good idea or is it best to just stick with the same lighting and conditions?
    Cheers

Embed images directly into your appeal, not as separate attached or uploaded images.

Only use those that really show signs literally, in a bad light/illegible, no close ups.

  • Good news, UKPC did not wish to contest my POPLA appeal so I was successful, thank you!

If its any use to anyone else this car park was the Cheadle Hulme Shopping Centre. I added a little bit more to the appeal I posted earlier in this thread specifically the signage and included even more images - e.g. the signs in poor lighting, and the image of the car in the centre of the car park with all signs no where near on the boundary (illegible from every bay).

Has this cost UKPC £30 or is it only if they contest my appeal?

Only if contested AFAIAA. The precise payment terms are not as transparent as under the original POPLA service provider (nor are many other things!).

Well done! Have you got the links to those photos, in case it helps anyone else?
