    Morning folks!

foxgloves - I hope you feel better soon.

I dragged my last major WIP out last night, after a few abortive starts and frogged rows, I got into the swing of things while watching The Mummy (the one with Rachael Weisz in). Seriously though, how dishy is the chap who plays the mummy? (once he's regenerated of course :rotfl: )

In a funny mood today... I feel like there's something that I should be doing or have done that I haven't. Feel quite unsettled... perhaps it's tiredness or maybe it's spring.

    Today's mission:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • work work work work work
    • Charge phone in work
    • Go for a mooch at lunchtime
    • Reconcile budget sheet with OH (didn't do this last night)
    • No alcohol
    • Do app
    • Early night
Will add if I think of anything.

    Have a good one all

Morning frugal ones. Yesterday's list was an epic fail! Ended up taking the smalls to the park and then a friend called asking if we'd pop round so that was the rest of the afternoon. It's not like we were out spending but I wasn't sorting either ;)

    So today's list:
Sunday lunch at home with parents. Got meat from local butchers, there will be plenty left for leftovers
    Make Yorkshire puds, stuffing, crumble
Order a veg box and see if it works out cheaper than supermarket
    Bit of tidying
Get ready for school, make lunch box for DH and dd
    Smalls to prepaid swimming lessons

Yesterday we decided to buy some raw milk from a local farm. Maybe not the cheapest option but given that it's organic, in a reusable glass bottle and less than a mile from our house it ticks lots of boxes for us. I'm going to track the cost for a few weeks and see how it compares.

    Hi February Fabulistas,

The Elf has plague. :( Awoken this morning, again, by road-workers repairing the tarmac directly outside. Why did they need to repeatedly sound their lorry horns?

Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Three:

    * Good, homemade, sustaining breakfast, coutesy of DW.

    * Work very hard on my own mental health issues. Do Holistrio App.

    * Check online banking and broadband usage.

    * Turned off alarm clock until tonight, it resets itself automatically.

    * Need to clear out my mobile phone. It is jammed packed with cr#p.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:at CLF fancying an actor dressed as a mummy. They are dressed / covered in bandages, aren't they? :rotfl::rotfl:

Been to an early morning flea market this morning, in a fairly vain attempt to buy some decent sales stock. Got a few little bits, but I was more excited at being able to buy butter at 3 x 250g packs for £2 from one of the market traders :j

    Apart from that:
I also spotted a gas bottle the same size as the one in our camper van. Had to find OH to ask him if it would be suitable, as we have been looking for a spare (but didn't want to pay £70 or so for the priviledge ). The regulators (?) etc are a mystery to me. It was ok, so we bought it for £3 :)
Cheapie porridge breakfast with HG fruit from freezer and Lidls yogurt :)
There is plenty of food for lunch in the fridge :)Made BLT sandwiches with some leftover ham stuff, grilled till crisp :)
Got a half leg of lamb out of the freezer for dinner. We don't usually have lamb, as it is so expensive, but a local farm shop had some YS quarter lamb packs a few weeks ago, reduced to half price. Locally produced too, even at full price these are better value than the supermarkets. OH cooked tonight (for a change). Was yummy :)
I have an ebay item to pack ready for posting tomorrow :)All ready to go :)
    Listed another item on ebay
And 3 things on FB, which someone has already asked for - it will be interesting to see if they actually buy them - don't have much luck with FB selling usually
Some cleaning and tidying in the house :o
Might take the car and get some bags of compost :)Decided not to go out :o

Decided to do some cooking for the two days this week when DW and I are both working. After two hours(!) I emerged from the kitchen:

First, I made 8 meatballs and tomato sauce for the freezer using lackluster onions. I also made another 4 for a lunch next weekend.

Chinese chicken is marinading in the fridge for later using up some of the 3 jars of lemongrass DW has over-bought. Also used ALL of the spring onions, we don't throw out the greentails.

A sort-of chicken korma for the freezer adding in some leftover passata from the meatball sauce.

There was some leftover chicken and korma sauce from the korma, so I made a spiced chicken and rice soup for tomorrow.

DW likes langoustine scampi from the award-winning chip shop down the road. This is expensive, so she has knocked together SCAM-pi instead. Prawns in breadcrumbs for later deep-frying.

    Hi Sunday Savers,
Woeful day here, as the lergy means missing a gig we were looking forward to tonight at a local pub with music venue. Woke at 4am with razorblade throat. No energy to do much at all.
*mr f found an old portion of courgette curry in the freezer, which he ate for lunch.
*Made quarter-pounders which will be eaten later in home made rolls wirh salad.
*Knit.....as am prioritising stuff that can be done while sat by the fire feeling sorry for myself!
*Washer loaded for half price overnight tariff.
*Sorted out random collection of gifts from Mum - 5 magazines, 3 books, cake tin, 4 cat dinners, a Dyson which she no longer required, etc.
*No spending as feel too grotty to go out.
Not a very productive day at all.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

  • Hi guys :) sorry to hear we are dropping like flies! Hope lurgy is a short lived one!

    katy hi!

Our internet is being exceedingly annoying currently so we'll see if I can post this....

Today I have done the following:

    * did a kinda end of the month financial check in - quite hard with intermittent internet! all good though :D
    * hung washing out on line
    * all meals from stores
    * dinner is using several ys items from the freezer ;)
    * made soup for the 3 days - it is Jack Monroe's chilli chocolate soup. AMAZING if you love soup and spice try it! I used a spoonful of cocoa rather than buy in any chocolate ;)
    * went to wildlife park using membership cards ;)
    * spoke to friend who is going to have madam one day this week after school saving us £7 - but she's done it another time so will have to get her a bottle to say thanks!

    Still to do:

    * make tomorrow's dinner when madam goes to sleep
    * iron clothes, clean shoes & get bags ready
    * have a facial & paint toes
    * play game with oh this evening

Ok that'll do - let's see if this posts!
