Tesco 'planning' new discount chain called Jacks

How are they going to run their supermarkets, the Tesco express and Metro Stores, One stop convenience stores and the new Jack stores? Why don't they just band them all together and make them collectively cheaper?

Because this way they can kid people into thinking there is diversity on the high street. People see a Jacks and a Tesco, most don't or wont realise they are owned by the same brand and so wont raise an eye brow or complain about a certain brand taking over the high street.
And this way, eventually they won't have to have any real competition when it comes to prices.
