Would paying up the first PCN have a negative effect on the second?

No, but why on earth would you want to do that?

Re-read Waamo's most recent post and the last sentence of post #13.

Another newbie question, when looking at other template letters, what are these abbreviations?

    "(a !!!8220;notice to hirer!!!8221;)"

    It's rubbish punctuation.

Make it look right before you send it anywhere.
  • So the numbers or exclamations have no relevance?

Ok here is the draft for appeal to OPS for PCN 2:

    "<snip>"
What's wrong with the template appeal in post #1 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky/pinned thread?

    That's correct.
  • I wasn't sure it would apply to me as a private leaser.

But the first sentence of your bespoke appeal lets you down:
I would like you to know I (as the registered keeper of the vehicle)...
You are not the registered keeper, are you?
  • Good point. Sorry, quite stressed by it all.

If you want an appeal specifically for a hired vehicle, have a look at the bottom of post #1 of the NEWBIES thread under the heading COMPANY, LEASE OR HIRE CARS ANYWHERE IN THE UK.
  • I’ve just looked at the dates. Looks like the dates where done within POFA?

    Date of Contravention: 6th Jan

Letter back from lease company dated 19th Jan, stamped as received by OPS as 25th Jan

Date of sending of PCN to hirer: 26th Jan

I then arrived after a period overseas to open them on the 3rd Feb.
