    Yes, me too.

It will take me a week to start to remember it now. :(

It is ridiculous. It is not as if this is the only password we have to remember in our lives. With work and home I have about 75 to remember. It is just not feasible to keep changing passwords constantly, especially when most passwords have a different criteria.

My password also had to be changed, wondered if it was a scam.
  • This is the second website this week that has told me I have to change my password and not let me log in till I do. It's all very well forcing security updates on us but with all the hacks going on it's easy to think it's not genuine. Frightened the life out of me it did.
  • Absolutely ridiculous. We have certain passwords for particular reasons. Mine said i had to change because i'd had it for '57' days. so i have to change it every two months? Really? I'm a member of many many forums, some of which do have reason to be particularly secure and they don't do this. What is so secretive and important about this forum that i need to change my password every two months?
    August-September 2017: Lots of stuff :)
    :beer::beer::)
  • I refuse to change my password on an insecure page. What is wrong with using https

I have signed up as a new user, using an old email address that I haven't used for several years. At least if my details are intercepted they wont get any current info that is connected to my old log in.

Suddenly forcing everybody to change passwords on Friday afternoon when there will be no staff at MSE to help.
Not setting up a secure https page for it.
Lack of response to so many posts.
No message on Facebook or Twitter.
No reply to Facebook & Twitter requests for info.

This looks suspiciously lake a data breach and they are trying to establish what has happened and if anything has actually been stolen before informing us.

    NOT GOOD.
Revoking all passwords immediately is sensible.
Not using https:// is almost criminal.

Not really a new user, so no need to be nice or polite in any responses to my rant:)
  • Something has happened, you don't do this without warning for no reason. I've opened a new account too (on an insecure page - ridiculous!)

I've only been a member for a few weeks and had to change!
  • Mine was some random number like 1986 or something. I didn't even change it tbh.
