The Van cost £3k and is 17yrs old, when i checked it over at time of purchase there was no visible sign of damp, no musty smells or mould, everything appeared to be dry, But it wasn't raining when i viewed it, but it did rain a few days later and while cleaning it , is when i found the wet section through the vinyl in the shower room.
I did not however get a independent inspection, which in hindsight i wish i had.

So you didn't actually ask the vendor if it was watertight?
Is it reasonable to expect a caravan of that age to be 100% free of leaks?
The vendor must truthfully answer any questions you ask, but they don't have to volunteer any info at all of their own free will.
