Second hand caravan

I have just bought a caravan from a private seller, when i viewed it appeared in sound and dry order, a week after we brought it home we have found that there is wet at the rear end, the seller told us it was dry all round, he must have known?
Is there a chance that we can either return for a refund or get some money back to put towards repairs?

Private sale
No
Unless the ad actually stated 'dry throughout' or similar.0 -
The original ad states "Everything works as it should with no damp." So not sure what to do??0

Get an independent report on the damp, a copy of the ad and see him in court.
Or get the defect sorted.
Even if you go for number one you may end up doing number two.0 -
I will probably get it fixed anyway as the rest of the van is fine, just wondered where i stood with the seller, could i get some money back toward the repair? or should i try for a full refund and just return the van..0

Which is true at the time of purchase... otherwise you wouldn't have bought it.
They might claim you have damaged it in transit etc., typical private sale rubbish I know!
I don't doubt that they knew, but think you may be better off swallowing it and getting it fixed.0 -
