thanks, i did a search before i posted and didn't notice one on this subject.
    A long memory helps :)

Your eye may well have skipped over it since it mentions "plant" in the title and not "beer"...

..it was only because I knew it was here somewhere that I found it.

    Glad to help, anyway :)

    Here you are:
I've been asked by the board guide to remove the recipe and provide a link to it instead to avoid any difficulties with copyright. I apologise, I did not realise the recipe was copied from the BBC.

This is where I got the above recipe from, posted by MDUK - I didn't realise it was originally a BBC recipe. :o

  • The supermarkets (Tesco certainly) do bottles of ginger cordial. You top it up with carbonated water, and you've got your favourite drink.

Looking to make the alcoholic version of ginger beer and my plant is well underway. Apparently I have to strain the contents of my plant into my pan however I'm not sure what to use to strain it.

I'm looking at purchasing some cheese cloth from ebay at about £2.80. Can I use something else like stockings or similar? if not and cheesecloth is the way to go, can I wash it in the washing machine to reuse it?

    Here's the receipe from hg2g: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A634664

J cloth is a good substitute for cheese cloth; also, it can be washed and used more than once.

ah, a cunning idea = D and substantially cheaper than cheese cloth. Though will it turn my ginger beer blue? ;-)
