iphone warranty dispute

I have an iphone that is less than 6 months old. It stopped working and had to be sent to Apple. They have advised the warranty is void because there is liquid in the phone so I will have to pay £250 for the repair. I am disputing this but don't know how to go about pursuing my complaint - anyone had a similar problem?

Water ingress or damp condensation will trigger the numerous water indicators inside the phone .
Apple should be able to show pictures of this damage .
Or commission an independent report on the phone .0 -
As stated. If water has got inside the phone then it will trigger the water indicators and void the warranty0
