Xiaomi Redmi 4x - available on EBay from UK sellers for less than £150.
I have a Redmi 3 that I've had for 2 years now - no problems and good build quality. The only thing is to check which 4G bands you need/use as some don't have all of them that we use in the UK.0 -
Got my cubot cheetah 2 for £80 ( "over the moon")
I think it is worth £150, although I can not justify paying any higher price for any phones more for ever such minor advantages.0 -

I've got one of these , you need a version with "global Rom" and band 20 (B20) which gives you 4g on all networks here

I have a Doogee BL5000 bought from Amazon for £137
5.5 inch screen
4gig ram
64gig internal memory
Fingerprint sensor
Curved screen
5000mah battery
Android 7
Can't fault the phone. Battery lasts ages. Screen is sharp.0 -
If you would want to get a Chinese Smartphone, make sure your vendor offer software update (Android OS) reasonably. Some sells cheap phones without any software update.
Also make sure you get Global international ROM, not a Chinese ROM. Some sells Chinese ROM version cheaply. Unless you use a Global ROM, you may not get the same software update.
Make sure if your phone supports in the UK

Using more than 2 years ? : Open source Android OS
If you would intend to use your smartphone more than 2 years, you may be interested in Open source Android OS, then you would consider community supported devices such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Snapdragon 625 only) This is not for everybody's option as you will take all your responsibilities for your device.
