Child and Working Tax Credit

I wonder if someone can help me. I have just tried the calculator on Gov.uk to see if my husband and I qualify for Child or Working Tax Credit as we are struggling financially and our debt advisor suggested we look into it.

The calculator came up as saying we could qualify for 470.01 CTC and 367.81 WTC based on our income.

I then had a read up about it as I do not know much about it and it seems you cannot get CTC if you annual household income is higher than 35,000.

I am really confused as our household income is 53.280. I am currently received ESA so perhaps that has an impact on it?

I just wondered if anyone received the tax credits with this income or if I am completely wasting my time.

Many thanks in advance
