Child and Working Tax Credit

I wonder if someone can help me. I have just tried the calculator on Gov.uk to see if my husband and I qualify for Child or Working Tax Credit as we are struggling financially and our debt advisor suggested we look into it.
The calculator came up as saying we could qualify for 470.01 CTC and 367.81 WTC based on our income.
I then had a read up about it as I do not know much about it and it seems you cannot get CTC if you annual household income is higher than 35,000.
I am really confused as our household income is 53.280. I am currently received ESA so perhaps that has an impact on it?
I just wondered if anyone received the tax credits with this income or if I am completely wasting my time.
Many thanks in advance

Sounds like you have ticked that you are on income based ESA when based on those details you!!!8217;d be on contributions based.0

Thank you! Does that mean there wouldn't be any additional benefits? Sorry I am completely new to all of this!0

Unlikely on that income. How many children do you have? Any disabilities? Any childcare costs?0

Ah I understand the difference between contributions and income based now. Thank you - I did think it seemed unlikely but thought I would check!0

Hi DS - not sure if you have noticed but your posts seem to be displaying oddly lately with numbers in the middle (or at least they are to me!)

It's an Apple thing. This guide is supposed to help fix it.
