I ordered this model just before CPW's sale ended on Wednesday night, but I'm surprised it's still on sale for £129.99 as it's a 2.1 Ghz Octacore with full HD and 3GB RAM.

I picked it up today, put it on charge and the light went green straight away. It's still green now, so does that mean it was fully charged straight out of the box?

Indeed, however green on android usually means 90%.

Look at the percentage to see how charged it is. Might need turning on on options depending on the UI.
